Accessible only by ferry, Maria Island is a special place where long sandy beaches, turquoise waters, mountaintop vistas, abundant wildlife, and a rich human history come together to create the perfect island destination. From photographing wombats and wallabies up close to exploring the island’s convict ruins and stunning Painted Cliffs, this experience offers a rare opportunity to combine nature, history, and photography in one extraordinary location.
Throughout the day, Charles and Ben will share practical techniques, creative insights, and tips on storytelling, helping you capture the essence of the island in your own style. From approaching wildlife respectfully to using natural light and mastering both wide-angle and telephoto lenses, this experience is a rare chance to elevate your photography in a spectacular, immersive environment.

Approximate Timeline:
8:45 am – Meet outside The Henry Jones Hotel, Salamanca
9:00 am – Depart Hobart
10:30 am – Arrive in Triabunna
11:00 am – Ferry to Maria Island with Encounter Maria Island
11:30 am – 3:30 pm – Photography session and lunch on Maria Island
3:30 pm – Return ferry to Triabunna
4:00 pm – Arrive back at Triabunna
5:30 pm – Arrive back in Hobart
